Welcome to my portfolio
I’m Victoria Perry and I’m an eleventh grade student attending Lake Shore High School. I have been dancing since I was about five years old and I have recently tried the wonderful sport called tennis my freshman year of high school. I played on my old school’s tennis team for two years but had to stop since I transferred schools. Tennis is a new passion of mine but doesn’t take dance off the pedestal of number one. I plan to become involved in the medical field in the future rather it be a doctor of some sort, a nurse, or EMT. I love helping people, especially when it comes to someone who needs advice. I wouldn’t mind becoming a psychologist in the future, but it isn’t my number one goal. My number one goal right now is to be successful in whatever career I pursue in, but I plan for it to be in the medical field. I really enjoy anything having to do with learning how something functions and what it affects as a result of its function. I’m a very responsible and a very caring individual. I’m always here for anyone when they need to talk or a shoulder to cry on because I would want someone to do the same for me. I care for people and their feelings and want that in a career. I want to be caring to others and have an effect on them that’ll last a lifetime.
In the future, I plan to graduate college with nothing lower than a master’s degree. I plan to work in the medical field or wherever my passion and desires take me. I want to be successful and stable but most importantly happy. I want to be happy with my lifestyle; I don’t want to dread being where I am every single day. I know I’m going to be successful in the future because the way things are going right now, it seems they are heading in the right direction. I really just want to be in a suitable position for myself that’ll make me happy and content with life. I know the fact that I’m a hard working individual that I will get there eventually.
Education is a very important factor in my life. I believe that a person should be constantly learning something new every day and apply what they’ve learned into real life. I have goals in my life that I will be successful when it comes to education. I also believe school has shaped me into the disciplined, oriented, positive individual I am today, and I know that’ll benefit me in the future. In elementary school, I’ve learned to treat others the way you want to be treated which is probably the easiest and most beneficial lesson one could be taught. This lesson is still important to me today. I’ve learned to take responsibility for my actions, especially my mistakes.
Speaking of mistakes, my favorite quote is “Making mistakes is something everyone does. Learning from them is not.” This quote really speaks to me due to the fact that I have made plenty of mistakes in my life. I used to think of mistakes as just that, mistake - something that I can never take back and will be stuck with me for the rest of my life and I will constantly be regretting it every second. I used to, and still kind of do, think about my mistakes every day and instantly begin feeling terrible about them because they're a burden. I use to be ashamed of them, but now that I am getting older, I realize that mistakes are not mistakes. They’re learning experiences. They’re not meant for you to be ashamed of yourself or constantly putting yourself down for making them; they’re made for you to learn from them and grow. It’s really hard to learn from your mistakes and accept them and move on, but it’s definitely possible. It just takes a lot of time. You have to forgive yourself and forgive others if needed and move on. I know it's really easier said than done, but it can be done for sure. I'm still learning. I'm still trying. I'm still in the process of forgiving myself for my mistakes and learning from them. I know now that mistakes are learning experiences, they're not “constantly regret your mistakes and be ashamed of yourself” experiences. I'm going to make more mistakes in the future; some mistakes will possibly be worse than others, but it's okay. I'm going to learn from them and grow. I'm going to become a better me from these learning experiences, and I'm going to be so proud of myself for doing such a thing. Like the quote says, not everyone learns from their mistakes. It takes a strong, dedicated individual to be able to learn from their mistakes and better themselves from it. I believe I am that individual.

LIFE VISION STATEMENT
"GO-GETTER" ~ Everyone who knows me knows that I aspire to become a surgeon in the future; they'll talk about how I will most likely be off somewhere either watching YouTube videos of surgeries or videos of current medical students and their journey to medicine. They'll talk about how I excel in my science courses because they know I must do well in those in order to become a physician. I know I am for sure a "go-getter" because whatever I put my mind to, I stick to it. That's is my current mindset, and will always be my mindset (speak it into existence), which is to achieve any and all goals I wish to achieve.
"FAMILY" ~ I love my family to death. My close friends are considered my family as well. I'm always speaking to my mother or father whenever I can because the love I have for my parents is, some would say ridiculous, out of this world. My parents have done so much for me that I can't help but love them for it. I plan to give them everything and more when I am set into my career because they deserve it especially since they're willing to be in debt for my college education. It saddens me that they may be in so much debt because of it, but they're doing it because they love me and want me to achieve my goals of becoming a medical doctor. I love them for that and always will. They'll always be here for me and I'll always be here for them (even when I'm miles away for college).
"LOVE" ~ I believe the world will be fine if everyone just loved. I don't like the idea of hate towards others based off the color of their skin or their beliefs. Everyone is different; everyone was made different. I am different and proud to be. I love everyone no matter their skin color, beliefs, sex, et cetera. Everyone deserves an equal amount of chances and an equal amount to be loved by others, and I will always stand by that. Love over powers hate.
